Ugandan gospel musician and philanthropist Mungu Feni (Benard Feni) has captured public attention after chartering a private jet from Dubai to Uganda to ensure he spent New Year’s Eve with his family.
According to sources close to the artist, Mungu Feni was in Dubai on a business trip when he missed his scheduled commercial flight back home. With time running out and New Year’s celebrations fast approaching, the singer made the rare decision to book a private jet, prioritizing family over convenience and cost.
Speaking to associates, Mungu Feni emphasized that the move was driven by a promise he had made to his family, particularly his child, to be present for the New Year. “Family comes first,” he reportedly said, noting that moments with loved ones cannot always be postponed.
The story quickly gained traction across social and mainstream media, with many fans praising the artist for valuing family commitments, while others highlighted the gesture as a reflection of his success and disciplined work ethic.
Beyond music, Mungu Feni is widely known for his community work through the Mungu Feni Foundation, which supports vulnerable groups in West Nile and other parts of Uganda through skills training and empowerment programs. Supporters say the private jet story adds a human side to a public figure often seen through the lens of music and philanthropy.
As the new year begins, Mungu Feni’s action has sparked conversation about priorities, responsibility, and the meaning of keeping one’s word—especially to family.
