Arua, Uganda — Tension briefly rose on Thursday evening after Monopoly, a known MP aspirant in the region, survived a road accident in Manibe as he was traveling to Maracha to receive Bobi Wine, who was expected to arrive for a public engagement.

According to witnesses, Monopoly was part of a team heading toward Maracha when the vehicle they were traveling in lost control along the Manibe stretch. The incident drew the attention of nearby residents and passers-by, who quickly rushed to offer help.

Monopoly escaped with no serious injuries, a relief to his supporters who had already begun sharing the news across social media platforms. However, his manager, Ray Bigy, was reportedly injured during the accident and is receiving medical attention.

Local leaders and community members expressed relief that the accident did not result in severe harm, especially given the high-profile political activities expected in the district.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the cause of the accident, but early reports suggest that the team was traveling in a rush to join supporters gathering for Bobi Wine’s reception.
