Arua, Uganda — The city of Arua was filled with excitement yesterday as musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine made a surprise visit, attracting hundreds of residents who turned up to see and interact with him.
Residents began gathering along major roads early in the day after receiving news of his arrival. By the time his convoy entered the city, crowds had already lined the streets, cheering and waving as they welcomed him.
Bobi Wine greeted supporters warmly, stopping to shake hands, take photos, and speak briefly with local youth. His presence caused temporary traffic slowdowns, particularly along the Arua–Mvara Road and parts of the central market area.
During his visit, he held a short community engagement meeting where he encouraged residents—especially young people—to stay united and continue participating in national development. He emphasized the importance of peaceful dialogue, community empowerment, and youth involvement in leadership.
After the meeting, Bobi Wine walked through the Arua Main Market, interacting with traders selling produce and everyday goods. Many expressed appreciation for his willingness to listen to their concerns.
Security personnel maintained order throughout the visit, and no major incidents were reported.
Bobi Wine’s visit quickly became the main topic of discussion across the city, with residents sharing photos and videos on social media. For many in Arua, the visit was viewed as a significant moment, bringing renewed attention to the region.
